RAIPUR: Ahead of the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to release a “black paper” on September 2nd, highlighting alleged scams, cases of corruption, and other omissions and commissions of the Congress government in the state.
Opposition BJP, which has already released its first list of candidates for the November elections, is expected to primarily highlight the alleged hurdles being created by the Congress government in the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes, including the PM Awas Yojana and the Ayushman card scheme.
After the formation of Chhattisgarh in the year 2000, the BJP, for the first time, brought forth a 44-page black paper against the ruling Congress led by former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in 2003, and senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal was the convener of the same. The BJP’s black paper against the Congress government this time attains significance as Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself is releasing it at a function in the state capital to set the tone for electioneering in the state.
The black paper will also highlight corruption such as the coal scam, liquor scam, online betting scam, Gothan scam, law and order situation, problems faced by farmers, irregularities in paddy procurement, unemployment, reservation, and the fake caste certificate issue that compelled youths to stage a nude demonstration on the road during the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly in July.
After the release of the “black paper” by Amit Shah, the BJP state unit will prepare a black paper against the Congress government for each assembly constituency. There will be separate black papers focusing on women, tribals, farmers, and youths. BJP workers will reach out to people in every village of the state with the black paper.
Later, the Union Home Minister will address a rally organized by the Scheduled Tribe community at Arjunda in Mahasamund. Tribals from Odisha are expected to attend the rally.
According to the schedule, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister will arrive at Swami Vivekananda Airport in the capital city of Raipur by a regular flight at 6:40 PM on Friday. From there, he will proceed to the BJP’s state office at Kushabhau Thakre Parisar and attend various BJP meetings.
On Saturday, at 11:00 AM, he will release the black paper against the ‘corrupt’ state government on behalf of the public in the Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium at Science College, as announced by the BJP state unit. After that, at 3:00 PM, he will participate in a felicitation program organized by the tribal community in Saraiapali.
