Alleging that her fellow lawyers are harassing and targeting her, a lawyer practising in Kakdwip town in West Bengal’s Parganas moved the Supreme Court which on Monday sought the response of the Kakdwip Court Bar Association.

A bench of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and Pankaj Mithal issued notice on her petition. The petitioner Bina Das moved the SC after her plea was rejected by the Calcutta HC.
Das alleged that she was restrained from using the Bar Association’s facilities and even the ladies’ washroom within the court premises. “The petitioner is even denied by the typist of the said learned court to type any document which belongs to the petitioner and in fact, the petitioner is being restrained by several indirect methods by the opposite parties from taking any step in her other professional matters,” she said in her petition.
