PM Narendra Modi said on Saturday that change is imminent in Chhattisgarh as people are weary of the Congress government’s “corruption and misrule” masked as “employment and schemes.”
During an election rally marking the culmination of BJP’s “Parivartan Yatra” in Bilaspur, he urged women not to be swayed by attempts to divide them along caste lines regarding the women’s reservation act, which he said has caused consternation in Congress.
“Modi means the guarantee of fulfilling all promises. Modi has recently fulfilled one of them by providing 33% reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhas … But mothers and sisters should stay alert. They (Congress) are spreading lies. Be united so that your dreams come true. I promise that the coming years will bring prosperity to the families of all my sisters,” the PM said.
Spearheading BJP’s campaign in Chhattisgarh for assembly elections, he expressed disappointment with the slow progress of certain schemesin the state, suggesting Congress’s aversion to his government and its initiatives led to this sluggishness.
