SRINAGAR:The NIA raided Tuesday seven locations in Kashmir in a 2020 case of alleged terror funding by some NGOs that had raised the cash in the guise of charity.
According to the NIA spokesman, Parvez and Mehraj were “actively involved in instigating and funding stone-pelting in the Valley” while working with various banned terrorist outfits.
“Several digital devices and incriminating documents related to financial transactions were seized in today’s searches registered suo motu by the NIA on 8th October 2020,” said the NIA spokesman.
Tuesday’s crackdown followed searches at 23 locations earlier, including some in Delhi and Bangalore.
An agency spokesman said the searches were part of NIA’s efforts to “disrupt and dismantle the terror financing network in Kashmir”.
The raids in Srinagar, Budgam, Kupwara and Pulwama districts covered the premises of trusts and individuals associated with Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Societies (JKCCS), an NGO allegedly involved in raising funds for banned terrorist organisations.
